Management Information Systems (MIS) taught me to evaluate how organizations use information systems to improve market performance and how to create and manage Information Technology tools. The competitive environment, available technologies, and organizational context all affect organization's processes. They drive the need for more speed, efficiency, effectiveness, and adaptability. These processes are supported by information systems. An organization's success is partially determined by how well the results of these processes meet market needs. Information about the organization's success or failure is input that can be used to reshape its structures, policies, and strategies. Since information systems play such a central role in an organization's performance, it is not possible to understand them without understanding the context in which they are deployed. This degree prepared me to become a Business Analyst or Information System Developer in companies and consulting firms. The course focused on the analysis of business systems for the purpose of developing requirements for Information Systems.
